Kentucky is the Co-Favorite to Win the National Championship

The season hasn’t even started, but Kentucky’s odds of winning the 2019 NCAA Tournament have already improved.

The Cats opened with 8-1 odds to win it all, but in the latest Westgate SuperBook, Kentucky has been bet down to 5-1.  They are now tied with Duke as the favorites to win the 2019 National Championship.

A look at the SuperBook’s odds ahead of the 2018 season:

Those odds might change after Kentucky opens the season by beating down Duke in Indianapolis on November 6.

Duke is incredibly overrated. That team will disappoint and I’ll love watching it. The biggest bust in the country will be Zion. He’s just not that good and that’s why he dropped a good bit in many of the late rankings. He’s a YouTube superstar. Horrendous conditioning and just above average skill level will cause him to struggle.

      I tend to agree TBW.

Also, one has to wonder what the lingering effects will be (or how much) with Kansas and their issues.

If your assessment of Zion is accurate, then why was Coach Cal recruiting him?

Not to speak for TBW… but if your actually serious with the question… Because he is a raw talent and is why anyone (Cal included) would recruit him. We are just saying we think he might be a bust as the reasons TBW provided. K isn’t Cal in management of freshman in my opinion.

You’re exactly right RR, looking all the way back to Okafor being highly ranked prep player. I can see, Zion following in the steps of Okafor and Bagley. Not taught enough/any “D” while at Duke to translate in the league! One thing, Cal does and does well is, help develop our guys on defense!

RR. When you state “we”, you’re talking for TBW.
TBW states Zion WILL BE THE BIGGEST BUST IN THE COUNTRY. He’s not that good.
I don’t read that as saying he is very talented, but raw.
So TBW, clear it up for us. Would Zion be a bust at UK or just Duke?

I was being considerate to him with that phrase (not talking for TBW) since he started the topic that I agreed with generally. The “we” portion was in agreement with why he would be a bust.

He’s gonna dunk on some people . In the open court he will be a beast but those times are gonna be limited at this d-1 level . There’s no more crappy teams for him to play . No more crappy defensive jobs done on him .

He will do a little in non conf play but after that im interested to see how he does . One thing for sure is that he won’t be scrutinized after he falls off because he’s a Duke, unlike trae Young
