University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

“Kentucky is the center of the SEC universe,” says AL.com story

There are some flattering comments about UK Athletics over at AL.com where Alabama’s favorite news site wonders, “Is Kentucky the SEC’s most influential school?”

Part of an ongoing series on influence in the Southeastern Conference, AL.com found that the University of Kentucky kept coming up in discussions with athletic directors, agents, coaches and sources in the industry.

One unnamed source said, “Kentucky is the center of the SEC universe.” (Print the t-shirts.)

A surprise given the attention to football in the conference, UK’s football is better, but its SEC influence comes from basketball and the leadership side. John Calipari is undoubtedly the biggest name in the conference in basketball,  Mitch Barnhart is the current chair of the SEC athletic directors and of the NCAA men’s basketball committee, and Eli Capilouto is the president of the SEC presidents.

The AL.com story profiles all three right here, and all three were ranked among the SEC’s most influential people. Dr. Capilouto was first at No. 5, then Barnhart at No. 9, followed by Calipari at No. 13.

Kentucky is the center of the SEC universe.

Apparently the football officials haven’t been notified of this news.

If we are not the center of the universe we sure think we are. Go big blue and so proud of quickly and Richard’s, they have had to put in the work to get picked and 200% was nowhere near getting picked the previous year and turned that around 180 degrees. Proud of maxey as well but he was little more blessed with God given natural talent. That said he may have landed in the best possible situation for him considering Ben Simmons is PG and huge so he can guard pg be awesome on offense but he definitely gonna have to have that 3 ball consistent and sky is limit for him. I had already predicted quickly the steal of the draft considering his mock but made first round so bump that back a bit but think he could be 1st or 2nd team all rookie

Didn’t read the article attached yet but wonder who top 3 influencers are in sec. my guess is Saban sankey and whoever in Alabama gets the football media day in Hoover Alabama each yr. which if I remember I think it got moved to Atlanta idk I’ve been out of touch for a yr. cool to see any articles about uk. Like to see Mitch influence new uniforms alternates and throwbacks ,I don’t mind checkerboard but we could change it up a bit. Football does a good job though.

Well, if this is really the case then Barnfart will force the stupid checkerboard upon every team and follow up with stickers on courts or imprinted cutouts on the grass.

Cal is the only leader mentioned above. The league still revolves around Alabama and LSU, schools where they have multiple high revenue sports.
