Kentucky is a No. 3 seed in new USA Today Bracketology

KSR-9674

Fans are beginning to worry about Kentucky’s tournament seeding, and they should, but today’s new Bracketology from USA Today still has the Cats in Indianapolis and Memphis, which is the best case scenario.

USA Today’s new projection has Kentucky as the No. 3 seed in the South Region with opening weekend games against Akron and Notre Dame or Kansas State/Marquette. Baylor is the South’s No. 1 seed in the region, while, yep, the University of Louisville is the No. 2.

Two months ago I would’ve loved the opportunity to once again knock Louisville out of the tournament; now, I want nothing to do with the Cards in March as the two programs are moving in opposite directions.

The Indianapolis and Memphis sites are nice, though.

Don’t think we’d want to see the likes of Baylor or UCLA right now either..

Very hard to think of who we would want to play to be honest.

OMG…what are they doing!? It looks like they are laughing and having a good time…a three seed is nothing to smile about!!

UL wont be the same team in a month and a half. They are peaking now. Baylor would be a tough team but I think our style would give us advantage. UCLA would scare me the most. Month and a half.

Baylor’s size would give us fits. We already don’t rebound the basketball against teams that are smaller than us.

Yes, Baylor actually scares me more than UCLA. Tremendously long and athletic.

The actual bracket in March will likely look nothing like this so why even worry about who is or isn’t in it?

Yeah the whole fan of college basketball with speculation on March Madness thing is ridiculous….

Don’t worry, UK will once again win the NBA Draft Championship. That’s a thing, right?

UK has been to four final fours in the last seven years and won a title. Other traditional powers like KU, UCLA, UNC, IU don’t even have that many final fours combine. Nice try, though. I’d take our run with Cal over any team other than Duke maybe.

Well, that’s ridiculous. How is Kansas State/Marquette a play-in game?
Kansas State beat Baylor and West Virginia, and played Kansas to within 3.
    Marquette beat Villanova….?
And how is UCLA in the South Region? I’ve seen some of Lunardi’s with UCLA and/or Oregon and Arizona all in the South…are they just going to give the West Region to Gonzaga?

How is UCLA a 4, beneath us? They have two less losses and beat us on our own court. Unless we can win out, I think we’re waiting on another situation where we get a seed 2-3 below what we even deserve (and currently we don’t even deserve a 3 seed).

I think our only saving grace at the moment is that our only sort-of “bad” loss is to UT, an away game.

Only sort-of “bad” loss is to UT, an away game….. really? Getting blown out by 22 by Florida isn’t a bad loss?

A 3 seed is a joke the way we’ve been playing. We’re much closer to an NIT team at this point…
