Kentucky slid to #19 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, and they’re also down six spots to #22 in the new AP Poll. Kansas is #1, followed by Michigan State and Villanova.
Iowa loses to 2 unranked opponents of similar to worse caliber and drops 8 spots. Duke to a similar opponent and drops 2 spots. Kentucky drops 6 spots to a team that has won 6 of 8 and projected in the field of 68. 6 spots for 1 loss to an 18-11 Vanderbilt team on the road is ridiculous.
Duke won at UNC (outside of WVU winning at Kansas, the best win of the year) and Duke beat Virginia. Does anyone else have 2 wins that come close to that???? A big 12 team?? We all know the SEC doesn’t allow for UK to get marquee top 10 wins.
Not that it really matters that much since Louisville will no longer exist once the postseason starts, but they lose to an unranked Miami team and hold steady at #11? And Duke gets emaciated and only drops a couple of spots? Meanwhile UK loses a tough road game to a desperate team and is punished 6 spots? Makes perfect sense.
Bro Miami was ranked 12th and Louisville was ranked 11th when they played on Saturday. If you’re going to make a comment, at least educated yourself a little bit.
@catsby80 Hope your not talking to me, no crap they were ranked, they have been for awhile. Duke shouldnt be ranked ahead of us but what do we expect it to be? The other way around? No
Nice to drop by and see what all the uneducated fools are posting. Since some of you can’t read maybe you need to call Matty and ask him how long Miami has been ranked. If UK had to play in the ACC they would be unranked also.
If UK was in the ACC or Big 12 we would ranked higher. You don’t get penalized for losses as much in those leagues. UK is 2-0 vs ACC teams this year and both of them are ranked ahead of us. Texas A&M is 4-0 vs the Big 12 and 3 of those teams are ranked ahead of them. UK has one 6 straight vs the ACC dating back to last season and we are currently 16th in the RPI. Do you want any more education? #L1C8!!!
Do you know why they say the tournament this year will be filled with big upsets… because the teams are not ranked correctly. Kansas, UNC, Miami, Villanova, Xavier and Oregon… way over ranked. Honestly I don’t understand their obsession with UNC… just not a great team but they force it down our throat to accept them as the best… so when these teams lose in 2nd or 3rd round…. everyone is going to act shocked. Teams like Purdue, Cal, UK, WVU, IU, and Iowa, Texas and Texas Tech under ranked. We’ll see if I am right?
27 Comments for Kentucky falls to #22 in the AP Poll
Good to see Duke tumble so far in the AP poll… geez!
I feel that drop is a bit much.
Makes sense when you figure we’ve lost two of three.
^ to unranked teams..nor have beaten a ranked team in 10 months
10 months? did you miss the Louisville and Duke games?
Oh right one team that isnt going to make the tourney and one that barely is..youre right
They aren’t making the tournament because of self-imposed sanctions, not record. They are a borderline top-10 team.
One of the few times that UofL is ranked higher than us, and it doesn’t even count!!! LMAO

^good point
Keep in mind Iowa was #8.

74-63
And it could/should have been by much more.
Quit trippin’.
Rankings don’t matter. All that matters now is our seeding for the tournament. We are still a 3 seed, with a chance at a 2.
WVU never won at Kansas… Noone gets the point you are trying to make
#22…in the AP poll…AP…Alex Poythress…22…tweak…none of this means anything.

Miami was ranked last week too…does anyone here really pay attention to the schedules?

UNC is 6-5 against the Top 50? They shouldn’t be ranked anywhere above 20.
Iowa St. loses 4 of 5 and they are still visible? Sounds like the wheels have come off.
Miami not ranked and Louisville is?
Miami is # 7
Iowa St has won 3 out of their last 5, and lost to two ranked teams. Sounds like the wheels have come off your stats
