Kentucky expected to open up 2020-21 season against Morehead State on Nov. 25

We don’t even have a full schedule yet, but at least we know when the season debut is.

According to KSR’s Matt Jones, he is hearing that Kentucky will open the 2020-21 season against Morehead State on Nov. 25 as a part of the Multiteam Event in Rupp Arena that will also feature Richmond and Detroit Mercy.

After Hartford initially pulled out of the four-team event back in early October, it was announced that Morehead State would fill in to replace them and they’ll end up having the first shot at the new-look Kentucky Wildcats.

Earlier on Wednesday, Stadium’s Jeff Goodman reported that Kentucky and Morehead State would play on opening day with Richmond and Detroit Mercy coming in as the second game of the day. With head coach John Calipari also explaining on Wednesday that the non-conference slate has been completed, it sounds like we aren’t far away from a finalized schedule being released.

Only three more weeks until tipoff.
