Can’t really argue with it.

A little too steep. I can go along with # 6. #5 would be more fair, but # 6 isn’t too wrong. But all the way to # 7 is just an indefensible ranking\ for a close loss to a very good opponent.

Rankings at this point in the season mean nothing, and this is a perfect example. Let’s say UCLA had played another highly ranked team before our game and beaten them…Say they went on the road and beat Kansas a week prior to our game. Everyone would see how good they are, and them beating us, while still surprising, wouldn’t have been quite as impressive. The perception leading up to the weekend is what made the game so surprising…But let’s be clear: UCLA is every bit worthy of a #2 ranking, but I think if we played them 10 times we’d split. And I’m not sure UCLA could play better than they did Saturday. But we all know we can. We’ll be fine.

The ranking fall is fair in my observation and the Cats can move up again if they can shore up their 3 pt defense which has been a real issue so far as every team they have faced has gotten lots of wide open looks from 3. Also the interior defense and rebounding needs work but that will come game to game. Bam gets fouled a lot but has to finish much better at the basket.

My issue with this loss is we dropped 6 spots and UNC only dropped 2(3rd to 5th). Duke lost while ranked while ranked #1 (to a one loss KU team) and only dropped 2 spots. We lose to an undefeated team that is now #2 overall and we tumble 6 spots? It just shows the clear bias there is towards UK. Teams like UNC and PUKE continually get a pass by all the other coaches. It’s friggin BS.

If we would have played to our potential then there would be no reason to complain.
We should be somewhere between 10-15.
Saturday was a NBA debut and it was a fail.

Thankfully, we have 4 months to correct the problems that were there in the 5 point loss to the #2 team in the country.

What was Indiana ranked when they beat Kansas? Why are they ranked higher than us?

Its amazing how over the years Duke and Kansas can lose and either stay put or move up?

How can you find out who the ref’s are going to be before the game starts?

If Doug Shows is calling the game I want to take the points and bet against KY.

Rankings mean nothing and here is why….(although I do like to see the Cats in the #1 slot)

If the UCLA win was soooo big at UK Saturday (which it was)….and UK is sooo good (which we are)…then how do you justify a 9 spot jump to #2 by UCLA and a 6 spot slide by UK?

The voters are basically contradicting there own stance. If it were that big of a win by UCLA, then UK should slide 3-4 spots? #4 maybe #5? By dropping UK that far, in essence, you are devaluing the UCLA win…yet moving them up 9 spots….hope that makes sense.

That’s my brain’s take on it.

exactly. These coaches and the media in general love to stick it to UK whenever they can. Their rhyme and reason makes NO sense. We should have dropped to 4th or 5th IMHO

Who cares about the human polls? How many of the voters have actually seen all of the top teams play? I prefer to track Pomeroy, Sagarin (especially the Predictor) and Massey (especially the composite). Unlike the humans, the computers HAVE seen all of the games.
