After an uncharacteristically fast start from the Wildcats, Kentucky cruised to a double-digit victory over Georgia, their third and most decisive victory over the Bulldogs this season.
For the second straight game, Malik Monk couldn’t buy a basket. Monk’s only two points came from a dunk, but Isaiah Briscoe and De’Aaron Fox provided plenty of offense from the backcourt, scoring 20 points apiece.
In the post, Derek Willis (11) and Bam Adebayo (10) combined for 21 rebounds, but they were more impressive on the defensive end. Adebayo held Yante Maten to just 12 points and Willis blocked 4 shots. J.J. Frazier was the Cats’ Kryptonite all year, but not tonight. He got hot late in the first half, but was contained the rest of the game, finishing with just 15 points.
The Cats will face the winner of Alabama/South Carolina tomorrow at 1:00 ET.
