Kentucky bumped to a No. 5 seed in new Bracketology

Kentucky is climbing up the NCAA tournament seeding with a new No. 5 seed in ESPN’s new Bracketology. The current projection would have the Cats traveling all the way out to San Diego to play the USC/Syracuse play-in winner in the opening round. Gonzaga would likely be the next opponent before a matchup with Xavier, the region’s top seed, in the Sweet 16.

How do we feel about this region?

Middle Tenn would win that bracket, probably the best team in that group. That would be the worst bracket of all time as far as quality high seeds.

The Syracuse game would not be a good matchup as bad as we are from 3 point range. Unless we could put Vando or Shai in the middle of the zone to make the right pass it could be a long day.

You haven’t watched Cuse this year if you think their zone is still that good

I’d take it big time but UK is going to be a 4 seed when all said and done.

if we handle business these last couple games we should

I’ll take it. Cuse are a tough matchup with their length and that zone, I’ll take our defense against their offense though.

We would cruah Syracuse. The biggest weakness in any Zone is rebounding. Rebounding is our strength. Also, if u hold them on offense to 1 shot and force them to miss then they cant get back into the zone fast enough.

I would take this region all day, every day. Which is why it won’t happen. We’ll get the bracket with Duke, WVU, Wichita State, and Kansas or UNC. Mark it down.

Don’t forget Cincinnati; the NCAA wants a new rivalry.

They won’t put Puke and UNCheat in the same region.

We should play Cincy every year, WVU as well.

I would take this, but I hesitate to ever be a 5 seed…danger zone.

sign me up for a final 4 run if we got that draw. Maybe the weakest, most unathletic top 4 seeds I have ever seen.

I guarantee they won’t be that nice to us, never.

Any bracket right now is about as useful as a top 25 poll in Oct.

One thing I notice is that seeding doesn’t make as much difference as it used to. Looking at 1 – 12 seeds in this bracket, not a whole lot of difference between them. The parity is astounding! I would take this bracket, but don’t see that ever happening. For one I don’t see this being the toughest bracket, and UK under Cal almost always gets that.

    • Optional Facts

What would cause issues would be XU’s three pointing shooting… if we can’t hit any it would be hard to keep up.

Xavier has yet to play a team with the athleticism, length, and 3 point defense as uk. I’ve watched Xavier all year. I’ll take the cats by 12. Xavier does NOT want to play uk. True story

I think Cuse’s zone could cause us some problems. The Zags could too.

As poor as they shoot from the outside the VERY LAST thing they want to see is Syracuse’s match-up zone defense in my opinion.
