Kentucky basketball over/under win total set at 24.5

The fine folks at DraftKings Sportsbook have set Kentucky’s over/under win total for the 2019-20 season.

The popular sports gambling outlet is predicting the Wildcats to finish with the fifth-most wins in all of college basketball next season.

The number? 24.5 total regular season wins, which comes out to 6.5 losses.

Gonzaga has the highest over/under total at 27.5 wins, followed by Memphis (26.5), Duke (25.5), and Michigan State (25.5).

Here is the entire list:

What do you guys think? Can the Wildcats win 25 games in the regular season to hit the over?

They absolutely can and likely should, I really don’t care as long as they’re firing in all cylinders in March.

Agreed. I’d have a tough time taking either side of that line. I’d gladly take 4 losses in 2019 and a season that ends with 6 regular season losses because of what it means for post-season success.

31 games…so Vegas thinks we go somewhere between 24-7 and 25-6. I like those odds, but the SEC is tough yet again. Yet the shouldn’t lose more than 1 out of conference. That leaves a conference mark of 13-5 to hit that over.

Would be a very disappointing season if we win less than 25..

Not at all. A successful season isn’t measured in wins and losses during November through February. UK could win 22 games and start firing in March and most would certainly consider that success, if not all.

“The season” and “the tournament” are different in my point of view. The year we were an 8 seed and made it to the championship game is prime example. We had a disappointing season that resulted in a successful tournament run.
