Kentucky’s attendance may have been down this year, but it’s still the best in the country. For the third straight year and 20th time in the last 23 seasons, Kentucky leads the country in average home attendance, with 21,875 fans packing Rupp Arena per game. That’s down from 23,461 per game last season.
Per UK, since Rupp Arena opened in 1976, the Cats have ranked either first or second in average home attendance every season. In 18 home games this season, 393,743 fans came to Rupp. The most attended game this season? January 20 vs. Florida, with 24,394 fans. UK eclipsed the 23,000 mark five times this season.
With college basketball attendance down nationwide, it’s good to see Kentucky’s still the gold standard in the sport.
