Kentucky #1 in the polls for the 4th straight week

Screen Shot 2014-12-01 at 12.35.22 PM

For the fourth week in a row, Kentucky is atop both the AP poll and the USA Today/Coaches poll; however, after starting the season 7-0 in dominating fashion, three voters in both polls still don’t think think the Cats are the best team in the country. We’ll see if that changes after the Duke/Wisconsin game later this week.

Meanwhile, get your act together, Florida.

I’m glad Florida stinks. They were very overrated this year while everybody ignored how good Arkansas has been. I’m also not sold on Wisconsin or Arizona being better than Duke.

I agree Duke is probably #2, but Florida is better than they’ve been … they have Alex Murphy transferring from Duke available after 9 games, they have Chris Walker who barely got to play last year and is being brought along this year … and they have Finney-Smith who’s missed some games with a broken hand. At the end of the year when those guys all have 20+ games together and are healthy, they’ll be pretty good. Kasey Hill will be much better once he has all that help, too … and it all opens up Michael Frazier for 3s.

Who are the idiots not voting for UK as #1? 30+ point beat down of Kansas, 60 point whackings of other teams, etc. What’s not to understand?

      Well, you see….

Wisconsin barely beat the best team they played all year…unranked Georgetown.

Arizona squeaked by KSU and SDSU.

Kentucky has blown out every team they have played, including Kansas and Providence.

Why would you NOT choose Arizona and Wisconsin over Kentucky?

Cats have got to win all these non conference games since the SEC is sucking again. Only Arkansas in one poll at 18 and # 21 in coaches. Fld. at 24 in coaches with a 3-3 record is a joke.

Those sportswriters who have attempted to justify their non-KY #1 votes have done so on the basis that they voted for those other teams at the start of the season and those other teams haven’t lost yet so they aren’t willing to drop those teams from the top spot. Given that pre-season predictions are not the same as season performance, I think their justifications are pretty lame but that’s the excuse they’ve given so far. Apparently the same justification doesn’t hold true for Florida State in football, which has seen its rankings slip and slide each week despite an undefeated season because of unimpressive victories.

Also, at least in the AP, one of the 3 non-UK votes is by the same guy that refused to put Anthony Davis as an All-American during his award winning season here. He’s in North Dakota or some far flung place like that. I see clear anti-UK bias in that particular vote…

Anyone who didn’t think Davis was an all-american is obviously an idiot. Why does that guy even get a vote still?

The three votes for the cheeseheads and against my team mates are from folks with Wisconsin ties, they are still mad about Aaron hitting that shot against them in the tournament last year.

If nothing else has been proven, its that there are at least 3 AP voters who are morons based on the results of this season alone.

And Kansas has 2 losses, so they shouldn’t even be ranked in the Top 20.

While the UK beatdown probably felt like 2 losses, Kansas has only lost to UK this season. They play Florida Friday, though, and it would be nice if the SEC handed it another loss.

    Thanks KSR!!!!!!

but those three voters are Soren Petro, radio host in St. Louis; Scott Mansch, Great Falls Tribune (Montana); and Dave Borgers, New Haven Register (Connecticut).
