Keldon Johnson receives an NBA Draft Green Room Invitation

All three draft-eligible Kentucky Wildcats will be in Brooklyn for the NBA Draft.

Evan Daniels reports Keldon Johnson has been invited to attend the star-studded event. Tyler Herro and P.J. Washington received invitations earlier this week.

The news comes just hours after Johnson completed a workout with the Washington Wizards. He ran through drills alongside Cameron Lard, a forward from Iowa State who ESPN does not believe will be drafted.

Currently the Wizards only hold one pick at No. 9 overall. It’s well ahead of the most recent projections that put Johnson in the mid to late first round.

Johnson has one more week to prove to teams that he’s worth selecting in the first round. The NBA Draft is Thursday, June 20 at the Barclays Center.

Well, that blows the last KJ article out of the water. What took so long; do they only send out one invitation per day?

I would guess they only invite X amount so as individuals decline the invite, they invite more.

Why would anyone decline? Overseas maybe?

I’m betting some league exec gave assurances he’d be drafted at or near the top 20.

I thought green room was only for projected lottery guys? Regardless, it’s obviously a slow news day (and month)

The plan was to invite 20. They hold some invitations to gather the latest input from teams to try and avoid any invitees sitting there until the second round.
