Keep an Eye Out for a New Feature on ESPN During Indiana/Illinois Tonight

ESPN is trying to get creative in ways they show college basketball. Earlier this year during Michigan/Ohio State we saw a camera angle for an entire game that was supposed to make it seem like you were sitting in the front row. Instead you got a little nauseous and a lot of bad angles.

Well, tonight get ready for this one. They are introducing ‘backseat coaches’ featuring Seth Greenberg and Dan Dakich. Rece Davis will call the game with Greenberg next to the Indiana bench and Dakich next to the Illinois bench. The two former coaches will be providing insight as to what the respective head coaches are doing and what they would do if they were in charge of Indiana and Illinois.

Personally, I’m excited for Greenberg to get inside of Tom Crean’s head and try to figure out what’s going on in there. I’m sure there will be plenty of opportunities for a caption contest tonight at 9:00 on ESPN.

“We’re doing a lot of whining, pouting, and making funny faces. Over to you, Dan.”

    Just call the freaking game.
Better yet, don’t… just show the game. We don’t need anyone to explain what’s going on.

I guess as long as they leave the coaches alone, it’s okay. I’m not a fan of when Cal or any coach for that matter is pulled away from doing their job to answer questions that they’re obviously not interested in answering, though.

I hope Greenberg gets in his head and never comes back. With that combination they should lose every game.Hoosier your coach now?
