Karlito comes to life

Screen Shot 2015-06-25 at 10.36.35 AM

Karlito, Karl Towns’ imaginary friend, became a major storyline last season. In case you’ve been locked in a trunk since December, whenever Karl would get frustrated during practice and games, he’d turn his head to the side and mumble into his shoulder. The coaching staff dubbed Karl’s invisible confidant “Karlito” and it became a running joke and story throughout the season.

It’s been about two and a half months since we’ve heard Karlito’s name, so of course it came up in all the predraft chatter. In fact, with help from Samsung, Karl and artist Nathan Walker collaborated to bring Karlito to life:

I wonder what Karl and Karlito will wear tonight?

Samsung has an advertising money maker in it’s hands. The story line it could develop with Karlito could be similar to State Farm’s Jake and Allstate’s Mr. Mayhem.
