With the top three projected picks opting out of the NBA Draft Combine, Julius Randle was a popular guy today. Randle was swarmed by reporters throughout the day, and told them he met with the Utah Jazz yesterday, the Cleveland Cavaliers today, and he’s scheduled to meet with the Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics later this afternoon. (Update: he met with the Orlando Magic, too.)
Julius is projected to be a top five pick, but Chad Ford said he could drop as low as seventh. Earlier, we reported Julius’ official combine measurements: 6’9″ in shoes, 250 lbs, and a 7’0″ wingspan. We joked about Julius’ short arms throughout the season, but his wingspan was two inches shorter than any of the other players his height at the combine. Still, that’s a pretty small flaw in the overall package.
Julius was also sporting this very fancy backpack, as spotted by Kristin Sugden:
Backpacks sure have come a long way from the days of LL Bean and Jansport.
