Julius Randle and James Young named Wayman Tisdale Award Midseason Candidates

randlejamesyoung

Congrats to Julius Randle and James Young, who were among nine candidates named to the midseason watch list for the Wayman Tisdale Freshman of the Year award.  Here are all the candidates:

  • Joel Embiid, Kansas
  • Tyler Ennis, Syracuse
  • Aaron Gordon, Arizona
  • Jordan Mickey, LSU
  • Jabari Parker, Duke
  • Julius Randle, Kentucky
  • Noah Vonleh, Indiana
  • Andrew Wiggins, Kansas
  • James Young, Kentucky

John Wall and Anthony Davis won the award in 2010 and 2012, respectively.  It’s been a big week for Randle, who also made the watch lists for the Oscar Robinson trophy and the Wooden Award.

Keep it up, boys.

That’s a pretty good list. Embiid looks like an NBA All Star.
I heard a comment by the ESPN Radio analysis, Paul Finebaum to say “A couple years ago Calipari thought he had the One and done thing figured out, but it hasn’t worked well since then” . I hope he will be disproved.
