John Robic calls Tyler Ulis one of the smartest players he’s ever been around

robic

UK assistant John Robic filled in for John Calipari during today’s pre-Mississippi State press conference and he had some high praise of his point guard, Tyler Ulis.

Robic told reporters, “We don’t have to teach Tyler a whole lot. He’s one of the smartest players I’ve been around in my 27, 28 years of coaching. He helps us sometimes.”

Robic added that he and the coaching staff are shocked on the rare occasion Ulis doesn’t make the right read. “Doing it and playing the majority of the minutes every game, it’s quite impressive.”

He also discussed Isaiah Briscoe’s shooting woes, what they were able to do against Alabama that didn’t work against LSU, the addition of Tai Wynyard and much, much more.

Tyler will be a great coach. Hopefully at UK and hopefully I’ll live to see it.

Now that you say it, I could see it. He’s got the intensity and the IQ, that’s for sure.

After his 10 year NBA career, of course.

Looks like he’s coaching during the games , now i’m not sure he may be talking about going out to eat after the games but he is talking to the players all the time .
