"It's been a killer," Vince Marrow said after the football team started the first ever early signing period off strong with 20 signed prospects. Last weekend Marrow needed to seal the deal on a few players who were being pulled at by other schools.  In the car with All-American Darian Kinnard and a pair of highly sought-after tight ends, Brenden Bates and Keaton Upshaw, Marrow hit up Coach Robic and Kevin Knox Sr.  A few minutes later, Marrow and his crew were hanging out with the basketball team. "They were having a shoot-around, and then Cal gave us a tour of the new locker room.  Cal has been awesome.  He has been very effective in a lot of guys that we signed," Marrow said Hall of Famer George Raveling was another one of their tour guides.  "When they get down there and see Cal, they look at Cal like he's a god or something. Then you see how down to Earth he is though." Despite the efforts of other schools to persuade them away at the last minute, Kinnard, Bates and Upshaw signed with Kentucky today.  Marrow hasn't been this excited about his new tight ends since C.J. Conrad signed.  That might not have been possible without the help of the basketball team. "Darian Kinnard don't say much and he's looking at Coach Cal, looking at Kevin Knox, meeting those guys and saying 'wow.'  Basketball has been very huge and Cal really supports us.  Those guys do a great job helping us and I can't thank them enough."
