John Calipari randomly called a Memphis radio show today
It’s Friday and John Calipari is feeling good. So good, he randomly called into a Memphis radio show to chat. Calipari’s in Memphis to celebrate the birthday of R.C. Johnson, the former Memphis athletic director, and while shopping for a new sports coat in one of his favorite stores, called in to the “Jason & John” Show on 92.9 FM. Their reaction to hearing the Hall of Fame coach on the line is great:
During the short call, Calipari told listeners they’ll love Memphis’ new coach Tubby Smith.
“By the way, Tubby and I are friends and he’s going to do a wonderful job and the fans are going to be so proud because, aside from he’s a good man, he can really coach. He can really coach.”
Very nice words about Tubby, but leave it to Calipari to complain about having to pay for clothes. Love it.
