I’m a little surprised that KSR hasn’t reported that Coach Martin resigned at UT to take the job at Cal!

Was watching this live. He did a great job and made some good points. Cal is so good at what he does it’s amazing.

Wow. I don’t know why I would be surprised, but Cal absolutely kills it in this segment.

Calipari against Smith and Bayless. I am afraid Smith and Bayless have found themselves in a battle of wits and are woefully unarmed.

Cal may be the only person who can out speak Smith. Usually he talks everyone under the table. With Cal, he mostly just agreed.

I’ve grown tired of hearing Coach Cal talk a lot of the times because it is the same material over and over. But he really did a great job on this show and represented very well. Skip’s hair looks really goofy too.

That is the first time I have ever seen Skip and Stephen A struggle to get a word in edgewise.

We in the BBN should be very proud of our coach. He is more than just a coach but a tremendous leader and innovator.
    Go Cats and Go Cal!!!

I can’t help but think there are some in the UK administration growing tired of Cal’s media tour. Too much Cal….not enough UK. That typically happens when the coach becomes a bigger star that some Dean in the Arts and Sciences building.

I wouldn’t surprise me if he got a little “know your role” talk at some point.

quite to the contrary. i don’t think cal is the face of the university nor should he be. but he is the face of the basketball program and i think the university has no problem with that.

Hahahahahahahahaha….just who’s gonna give the “know your role” talk?

What planet do you live on, buckwheat?

He is the face of the basketball program, and right now, he’s the face of the University as well. University President’s tend to take it personally when athletics overshadow academics.

Believe it or not, the University Administration can create a difficult environment for a coach to live in, and it may cause him to look for greener pastures if they get their panties in a wad.

Bobby Knight was bigger than IU. When the Administration got an opening, they canned him. I believe they knew if they would have let him stay another year, with the potential championship team he had coming back, it would have been impossible to clear it with the big donors to every get rid of him.

Winning doesn’t always equal praise in higher education.

I don’t see that as being the case here. Cal is talking up the academics. Talking about wanting to raise graduation rates and creating better more prepared students/athletes out of high school. He is helping the academic side of the university as well.

Especially when Smith how he felt about the face of college Basketball being rat face from Dook. I guess he thought he’d get a rise out of Cal with that asinine statement he made. Rat face would’ve took that statement and ran with it….Cal said he was fine with it…..But he threw ca ca back in their faces when he stepped up to the plate…..

    Stephen A: The meals suck

Cal: So lets get rid of them\

    Stephen A: ummmmmm…….. lol

All of these televised interviews are more effective in recruiting than in-home visits would be. Genius.

The UK Administration is doing cartwheels and loving having Cal out there on the National stage. This has been 100% positive for UK Basketball and the University as a whole. Anybody saying otherwise is full of sh## and out of touch.

Yes, the lack of practicing free-throws can be a pain but if you don’t think John Calipari is the man for this job then you are crazy. Just sub in Billy Gillispie instead of John Calipari for that interview….how do you think that would’ve went? Uh-huh yeah exactly. Next!

Just to the whiners! Don’t you realize any person traveling with a show or on a permanent set the main man/person/comedian/artist say/do/repeat the same lines/jokes, etc. over and over. So for YOU he may not be original, but to others it is a first time for them. Get over yourselves and play along or perhaps you would like to set in on what losing program coaches say over and over!
