University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Joel Justus listed among candidates at East Tennessee State

East Tennessee State University needs a new head basketball coach now that Steve Forbes is Deacon his Demon at Wake Forest.

Jason Shay, an assistant under Forbes for all five of Forbes’ seasons in Johnson City (f***!) Tennessee, was given the keys on an interim basis until the university makes its decision on a permanent selection for the gig. Shay is the most likely candidate to coach the Buccaneers this fall, but ETSU is conducting a search and at least one website believes UK assistant Joel Justus is on the short list of options.

HoopsDirt.com went as far to set the odds on ETSU’s search. Shay is the heavy favorite at 4/1, just ahead of New Mexico State head coach Chris Jans at 5/1. The odds for Justus are 25/1.

“Interviews began over the weekend,” the story says and Justus was among the names the author heard.

UNC Wilmington also considered Justus for its coaching vacancy back in March.

Good luck if you decide to go. It’s a log jam to move up at UK. That’s how it goes. He’ll probably be coaching much the same way. Recruiting is key. It’s sure easier with better players.
