Jemarl Baker still not practicing

Fans of Jemarl Baker will be saddened to hear Baker still isn’t practicing with the team. John Calipari said after Wednesday night’s game that Baker is still out and hasn’t practiced since the Blue-White game last month.

Baker told KSR back in September he felt healthy again for the first time in a long time and he enjoyed competing with his teammates in practice. “I feel really good now. I’m so excited. I feel good,” he said.

Preseason Conversation: Jemarl Baker finally healthy, feeling good

He participated in the Blue-White game but hasn’t done anything since due to lingering issues with his knee injury.

The timetable for a return is unclear.

Doesn’t seem like he’s ever going to be healthy enough to play. Hate to sound this way but it’s taking up a scholarship spot from someone who could be contributing.

We are so deep we can spare the scholarship. We aren’t needing to play that deep.

Cal likes to play 7 guys. Right now were 2 deep at every spot on the floor.

This kid was all the buzz this summer. He apparently has the one thing, the last 2 teams were missing. Outside shooting! I say keep him and develop him. Could be the next Dominique Hopkins player. Great on-ball defender and spot up shooter.

Don’t think he’ll ever get on the court. Clearly, playing in the B/W game aggravated his injury. Feel bad for the kid, was really looking forward to seeing what he could do.

No time table for his return? He’s never played. We’ll still waiting for his debut.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound very promising for the young man.

Did he redshirt last year? I seem to think he will play somewhere around conference time, if not then we will have a good junior shooter next year

Better keep him in the china cabinet until we need him. He makes Vanderbilt look like Lou Gehrig.
