Jay Bilas suggests Jarred Vanderbilt should return to school

According to Jerry Tipton of the Lexington Herald Leader, Jay Bilas suggested Jarred Vanderbilt should return to Kentucky.

Tipton spoke with Bilas and while Bilas didn’t pretend to know Vanderbilt’s final decision or where he’s at with his injuries, Bilas said Vanderbitl could use a full year to show what he can do when healthy.

“He’s got some very good tools to work with,” Bilas told Tipton. “He’s not a polished product yet… Maybe he’s better off going back to school and getting a full year in where he can really play and show what he’s capable of doing.”

The conversation centered around Vanderbilt skipping the NBA Draft Combine. Just a day before the NBA Draft Combine was set to begin Vanderbilt withdrew and didn’t go through measurements or drills. John Calipari said he met with an NBA team or two, but those weren’t formal NBA Draft Combine interviews.

We’re still unsure exactly what Vanderbilt will decide, but if he can stay healthy he could be one of UK’s best players next season.

Why give any credence to anything Bilias says? He still believes North Carolina at Chapel Hill is innocent.

Which is exactly why UK/UofL is and always will be a more intense, hostile rivalry than Dook/UNCheat. When all this AFAM stuff came out, it was NC State fans and media trying to uncover it. You never heard a peep out of Bilas or any other Dookie. Nothing to see here, move along. But yeah, more to your point… Bilas lost most of his credibility with me two years ago when he kept touting Dook as a #1 seed despite their resume being nowhere near deserving of it. Then he lost what little he had left when he defended the pathetic cheating tarholes.

Is this news? I think we already know Vanderbilt should return to UK for a full season of basketball.

No one knows. It’s the most puzzling injury in collegiate sports history.

If he’s healthy, he WILL be our BEST player next season. The ALPHA DOG. It will be his team to lead.

Why wouldn’t he be healthy? Like Huck said, what’s broke?
