Jarred Vanderbilt and Wenyen Gabriel announce statewide autograph tour

One of the more curious players to play in the Calipari era was Jarred Vanderbilt. When he played, he was arguably one of the better rebounders that Cal has had in Lexington, but the health factor was always a question.

Vanderbilt decided to enter the NBA Draft and last month was taken in the second round by the Orlando Magic before being traded to the Denver Nuggets. To make things better, the former Cat signed a 3 year 4 million dollar contract which proved that he made the right decision in entering the draft.

Now, like almost every player that has left for the NBA, Vando is going to be touring the state for an autograph tour.

Also announcing his tour is fan favorite Wenyen Gabriel who will be making the same stops as Vanderbilt, but in reverse order.

Gabriel was not drafted, but signed a free agent deal with the Sacramento Kings. On KSR a week and half ago, John Calipari alluded to Gabriel having a legitimate shot at making the Kings roster. There, he teams up with former teammate De’Aaron Fox and a pair of other former Cats in Skal Labissiere and Willie Cauley-Stein.

Here is the list of tour dates for Wenyen!

This tour starts one week from tomorrow and will only last three days so be sure to check it out!

Can’t imagine much support for Vanderbilt-didn’t do much to endear himself to the fans. Going to miss Gabriel.

Time is money. Louisville metro, Lexington metro, and NKY make up over half the state population. Not to mention NKY can draw from Cincinnati. Can’t blame them. It’s capitalism. Can’t expect a handout.

“Proved it was the right decision” just isn’t true. Maybe “proved it was a good decision” would be more accurate. We will never know it was the right one.

I’m one of the biggest Big Blue fans & supporters out there and I don’t like to be critical but wouldn’t it make more sense to have them do these together? Or perhaps I’m missing something.

I hope fans show up for these guys. Vanderbilt can’t control whether he is injured, and Gabriel gave everything when he was out there.

Was he injured or just over cautious. I wouldn’t walk across the street to see that guy. No heart.
