Barring an unforeseen Christmas miracle, Jarred Vanderbilt will not play in the opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament. But that doesn’t mean he can’t be an impact on the game as his teammates’ biggest cheerleader and additional assistant coach on staff.
Vanderbilt said Wednesday that he is trying to be supportive of his teammates as he sits out with injury, which he self-diagnosed at 70 percent.
“I still want to support the guys no matter what, whether I’m on or off the court,” he said. “I’m just doing my part so we can win.”
