Serious question…if Louisville doesn’t beat UCONN or Memphis and take 2 or 3 other loses are they an NIT team?

I would say yes, their out of conference schedule is a joke and as much as they want to say the AAC is better than the SEC this year I have a hard time believing that. If they don’t put a solid run together in that conference they will be biting their nails come selection Sunday.

It would take a bigger collapse than what you’re talking about. According to Pomeroy, the American Athletic Conference is actually slightly better than the SEC this year. The Cards’ RPI is going to be fine. If they end the season 24-7 or 23-8, they’ll make the tournament. I still see them doing better than that and making the sweet 16.

Chris, it’s certainly possible. I think it would depend on who those other 2 or 3 losses were against.

I think it would take closer to six or seven more loses for them to go to the NIT.

If they didn’t beat uconn or Memphis, that’s who the other losses would be against. Anyway, if u of l only has 5 losses at the end of the year, they are in the tourney, good wins or not. If they get 8 losses or more, with no good wins, that’s when it gets iffy.

You have to remember that the reason UK got pushed to the NIT last year was not because we lost to Florida, Duke, Baylor, and UofL, it’s because we lost to A&M, Georgia, Tennessee, and some other teams we should have beaten.

If Louisville goes 0fer against UConn and Memphis, but beat everyone else in conference, they’ll be in the tournament. If they go 0fer against UConn and Memphis and lose two or three games they have no business losing, say SMU, Rutgers, UCF, then the NIT becomes a possibility. I’ll give them a little credit though and say they’re too good to drop that many games in conference, even without Behanan. You also have to remember that if they beat Temple that could wind up being a quality win, not on the same level as UConn or Memphis, but quality nonetheless.

I feel like James needs a nickname. James Young is just too plain.

If LOSERVILLE gets swept by UCONN and Memphis that only gives them 6 losses. They would have to lose 6 more conference games to go to the NIT. That will be hard to happen when you look at that league. The reason their conference is ranked higher right now is that the 3 teams ranked is all higher ranked than Missouri at this time, I’m sure if LOSERVILLE drops a couple road games they shouldn’t they’ll drop out of top 25.

James is terrific. He would win the Michael Kidd Gilchrist EXCELLENT MOTOR award ( if there were such a thing). Its guys like him and MKG who set the proper example. BTW, I believe Archie Goodwin would have profited by playing alongside MKG or JY.
