Jamal Murray is projected to go anywhere from third to eighth in tonight’s NBA Draft, and while slipping to eight might seem disappointing, ending up in Sacramento with three fellow former Cats would be a great consolation prize.
“It would be a cool fit,” Murray said of going to Sacramento. “Obviously, they’ve got a lot of Kentucky guys: Rondo, Cousins, Willie. It would be cool to have another Kentucky connection. I think I could learn a lot as a point guard from Rondo and it would just be great to play with all those Kentucky guys too.”
Last week, Willie Cauley-Stein told us on KSR that he’s lobbying for the Kings to take Murray at number eight:
“I’m pushing for it,” Willie said. I like Jamal’s game.”
We do too.
