Murray State’s Ja Morant scored a career-high 40 points in the Racers 82-72 win over SIU-Edwardsville on Saturday Night.

According to ESPN Stats & Info, Morant is the first Division I player in the last 20 seasons to record 40 points, 10 assists and 5 steals. He is also the first Division I player to go 21-for-21 from the line or better in last 20 seasons.

Morant scored or assisted on 63 of Murray’s 82 points.

Kentucky grad and current ESPNer, Micahel Eaves thinks Morant is the National Player of the Year.

Sorry Tennesse Basketball, Morant and the Racers did this better.

As a Murray alumni and a Lifelong UK fan, I will be completely torn if UK and the Racers meet in the tournament.

Yep, agreed. Murray will be a very tough out for somebody. IF, Belmont or somebody should beat them in OVC tourney….committee better seriously consider at-large bid for them. Capable team that could beat a bunch of ranked teams on a neutral court.

It will be hard to leave Murray State out of the tournament since Morant is considered a lottery pick.

It sucks seeing players like him get away from the big time stage teams. It would definitely be nice for the fans of Murray State, but a kid like this need to be shown for the country to enjoy. Lol. Just jealous I guess that he’s not a cat. Kid can play and will have a good career playing if he stays healthy. He look like the real deal.
