Rupp Arena’s new state-of-the-art video board needs a name and the Lexington Center spent the last month and a half taking your suggestions for its “Name the Video Board Contest.”
After 3,800 submitted entires (that’s a lot), the LCC Board of Directors PR/Marketing Committee narrowed it down to two finalists — and it is time for fans to vote to determine the winner.
The finalists are: “SEYMORE,” submitted by Linda Parrish of Nicholasville, Kentucky; and “LEXI,” submitted by Dan Parker, a 1972 UK Grad, currently living in Reno, Nevada.
You’re invited to vote on your favorite name by going to Rupp’s Facebook page and clicking on the appropriate reaction icon. Voting begins right now and ends December 2nd at 12 pm. The winner will be announced at the UK vs. UCLA Men’s Basketball home game on December 3rd.
The grand prize for the winning contest entry is two tickets to every public ticketed event in Rupp Arena for the 2017 season, including lower-level tickets to the remainder of the 2016-17 UK Men’s Basketball Season, a private tour for 10 of the UK Locker room, and a custom 40th Anniversary Rupp Arena Jacket.
