After a successful season overseas, Isaiah Briscoe has returned to the States to pursue his dream of playing in the NBA. According to John Calipari, Briscoe is working on an opportunity with the Orlando Magic:

Briscoe hasn’t been mentioned in any of the stories about the Magic’s summer league roster, but knowing Cal, he’s doing everything he can to help his former player out. Last summer, Briscoe played for the Philadelphia 76ers’ summer team, averaging 5.5 points and 2.17 assists per game.

If you missed it earlier this month, Briscoe won Russian Young Player of the Year for his performance with BC Kalev. He averaged 22 points, 4 assists and 1.3 steals per game in his first year with the squad, helping lead them to the Estonian Championship. Here are his highlights:

Good luck, Isaiah.

Really could’ve used that guard depth and especially the experience this past year, not that Shai did bad because he was really good but Briscoe running PG finally he would’ve worked his way in as a first round pick this year and the team would’ve been able to develop better with the leadership of a real veteran

Hope he makes a roster this year. He was one of the best college guards I can recall on driving to the basket and finishing after contact. Was real surprised he’s not already in the NBA. Hopefully he’s improved on his outside shot and free throws. I think if he would have been the go to point guard at UK he would have been drafted without a doubt. Good luck Isaiah

Briscoe was really close to making Portland’s roster last season. I think he has a good shot. He’s a much better shot now that he’s playing PG full time and slimmed down a little.
