Isaiah Briscoe is Working Out with NBA Teams

briscoe-fts

Today Isaiah Briscoe worked out for the Spurs, his father George told Jonathan Givony of Draft Express.  George Briscoe provided a little update earlier today, but said nothing too specific.  This update paints a clearer picture of where Isaiah stands in the process.

Later this week he will head to L.A. for a workout with the Clippers, followed by a workout with the Lakers once the combine comes to a close.

Even though he did not receive an NBA Combine invitation, Briscoe’s decision-making process is far from over.

    Briscoe should stay in school…

I’d love to have Isaiah back, but he will be a steal for an NBA team 2nd round. One glitch in shooting last season does not define him.
Getting to the rim and defense would add another dimension to us, as it would for any NBA team. His free throw woes were an anomaly based on his pre-UK days.

Hopefully, they are working on his free throw shooting.

I know we’re supposed to encourage kids to do what is best for them and their family, but come on. Clearly he would benefit from another year in school. I wouldn’t say his freshman year was a performance that would convince anyone he should be a one and done.

Wondering if there’s something called the “Poythress Effect” now… players fear that if they don’t leave after one, they’ll be left behind until they are forced to leave college basketball.

I’m find with players leaving who have a clear path, but Briscoe? Lee? It’s getting ridiculous. Ridiculous.

Briscoe will make his own decisions, and we should respect that. Why do we feel the need to pass judgment, like we know better than he does what’s best for him? It’s a very unattractive thing we do to our own players.
