And yes, that is an actual show on television. Hosted by actual sports analysts Dino Gaudio and Andy Katz. It first aired yesterday and is now replaying on ESPNU.

Here’s Dino’s blueprint for beating the Cats:

So basically, play really, really well. And hope Kentucky doesn’t.

What’s funny to me is that most casual UK fans could come up with a better list than this so called “expert”. To this point no one has done it (because it’s so hard to do), but my list would go something like this:

*Make sure bigs get their bodies into defenders.
      *Get open looks for 3’s
      *Keep tempo slow
      *Hack and muck up game

#1 Give the entire team food poisoning.
#2 Lock them in their hotel rooms so they can’t show up for the game.

The keys to the game. Hit a higher percentage of shots than opponent, get more rebounds, make fewer turnovers, make all of your foul shots, Do that and you should win, according to Adolph Rupp.

I lol’ed at Gottlieb the other day when he was calling the WVU-Maryland game and he was saying the Harrisons are poor ball handlers. Not only does he make games unwatchable with his idiotic commentary, UK hasn’t been turning the ball over much at all, especially not when teams throw a press at them.

They may get themselves into a trap once or twice at first, but once they figure it out, the press isn’t going to beat them.

thank goodness LSU and Georgia didn’t get the “play the end game well” memo.

maybe we should make HOW TO BEAT KENTUCKY bingo cards for the WVU game.

I prefer Not Jerry Tipton’s formula. He tweeted the other day that the only way to beat Kentucky is…

    … play them in 2013.

If ESPN produces a 30 minute show about how to beat you, does that mean that you’re relevant to college basketball? Pat Forde and Dana O’Neil were no doubt excited to watch! 🙂
