The Cats once again got it done in Athens, defeating the Georgia Bulldogs 78-69 late Tuesday evening in front of Tom Crean and an arena full of red. It was this team’s first true road test of the season, and Kentucky was still able to walk away from a hostile environment with a victory. After trailing by six points at halftime, UK kicked things into high gear in the second half before eventually winning by nine points.

Tyrese Maxey and Nick Richards led the way for Kentucky, both earning 17 points apiece. Immanuel Quickley was not far behind the Cats’ leading scorer – he finished with 15 points of his own (including 3-for-3 shooting from behind-the-arc). Don’t forget about Ashton Hagans, who recorded 13 points, five assists and four steals against his in-state school. Georgia’s Anthony Edwards finished the game as the night’s leading scorer with 23 points, but he celebrated too early. Oops.
