Hang out with John Calipari and Mark Stoops on July 4

Got plans for July 4th yet? Me too. In addition to keeping an eye on KSR for Kash Daniel’s announcement, set your DVRs to record the SEC Network because John Calipari and Mark Stoops will be in charge as part of the “SEC Network Takeover” initiative. For all 24 hours of Independence Day, the SEC Network will air Kentucky’s classic games, films, ESPN original content, etc. Cal and Stoops will pop in from time to time to say hello and tweet from the SEC Network’s account.

One would assume all of their segments will be pre-taped, but I sort of hope they’re not, because a live look-in at the Stoops and Calipari Fourth of July festivities would be more entertaining than anything. Picture it now: Cal just sitting and eating plate after plate of meat while Stoops and the football staff play a raucous game of Yahtzee to celebrate Kash Daniel’s commitment. TV gold, folks.

Here are the rest of the league’s takeover days and representatives:

School Representative Takeover day
Alabama Mark Ingram June 29
Arkansas Coach Dykes June 30
Auburn Coach Pearl July 1
Florida Titus O’Neil July 2
Georgia D.J. Shockley July 3
Kentucky Coach Calipari & Coach Stoops July 4
LSU Alex Bregman July 5
Mississippi State Dak Prescott & Coach Mullen July 6
Missouri John Anderson July 7
Ole Miss Leigh Anne Tuohy July 8
South Carolina President Pastides & Ray Tanner July 9
Tennessee Inky Johnson July 10
Texas A&M Kayce Smith July 11
Vanderbilt David Price July 12

It is kind of ridiculous that Kentucky drew the one day no one will be around their TVs, but oh well.

Record, record, record. No need to hang out at the TV.
