Hamidou Diallo to Compete in the Slam Dunk Contest

One of the best dunkers to ever wear a Kentucky uniform will get a chance to shine on the biggest stage.

One man’s misfortunate is another’s gain.  Filling in for the injured Derrick Jones Jr., Hamidou Diallo will represent the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2019 Slam Dunk Contest, according to Yahoo’s Chris Haynes.

The former Wildcat will compete against John Collins, Miles Bridges and the newest New York Knick, Dennis Smith Jr.  The event will be the finale of All-Star Saturday night in Charlotte February 16 on TNT.

In just one year at Kentucky, he showed he’s capable of creating highlights at the rim.

He’s had a few good ones in his first NBA season too.

He may be one of the best leapers but I wouldn’t say he is one of the best dunkers at UK.

It’s a shame there’s a scheduling conflict. The dunk contest is on the same night as Tennessee visiting RUPP!! And I’ve already got my tickets!! Go BigBlue!!!
