HALFTIME: Kentucky trails Alabama 42-30
Alabama is torching the nets at Rupp Arena.
Through 20 minutes of play, the Kentucky Wildcats trail the Crimson Tide by a score of 42-30, with the latter knocking down a ridiculous ten 3-pointers on 22 attempts. Four Alabama players have knocked down at least two shots from deep, with John Petty Jr. leading the way with three 3-pointers and 13 points overall.
For Kentucky, Dontaie Allen and Devin Askew lead the way with eight points apiece, with the former knocking down two 3-pointers on three attempts and the latter knocking down three pull-up jumpers. Allen also finished with five rebounds to close out the half.
Davion Mintz has added five points and four rebounds while Keion Brooks Jr. and Olivier Sarr have each scored four.
As a team, the Wildcats are shooting just 32.3% overall and 30% from three.

Reality check the bad losses will make it very difficult to make the tournament, if they go say 12-6 in the SEC. The formula has netted one national title and a bunch of millionaires, of which none are me. I like banners don’t care about other millionaires.
You got three other final four banners, six SEC Tournament titles and five SEC Regular season titles. I mean the bottom line is the National title but Cal has done a great job. Seven elite eights again I get what your saying we are all tired of Cal touting the NBA millionaire narrative. GO CATS!!!

Boston gives you practically nothing. Askew is no quick enough to get by anyone. Allen is the only outside threat. So you get what we are getting.

Remember 10+ years ago when we were told UK was the gold standard. Short of the scandal in late 80’s this is the worst basketball in 40 years. It’s only going to get worse too – the head coaches inability to change will make this the norm, not the exception. If he can’t recruit the right players what good is he as he’s definitely not an in game coach.
It looks like UK took a knee for the whole game on this one.
