After a very ugly half of basketball, Kentucky leads South Carolina 33-25. They should be up by way more than that.
The story of this game so far has been fouls. The refs have called 23 so far, slowing the game to a crawl and reminding us how bad officiating has gotten in college basketball. I could go on, but I probably shouldn’t. You know what I’m talking about.
In between whistles, Kentucky looked okay. Nick Richards leads the Cats in scoring with nine points, but went to the bench with two fouls with 10:28 left. Ashton Hagans, Tyrese Maxey, and Immanuel Quickley all have six points each, while Nate Sestina chipped in four and Kahlil Whitney two. Quickley has now made 10 of his last 11 threes, which is pretty dang good.
Kentucky is shooting 43% from the floor while holding South Carolina to 24%. Have we mentioned today the Gamecocks are poor shooters?
Here’s to a better second half…
