Former players react to Kenny Payne to the Knicks

As the news that Kenny Payne accepted an assistant coaching job with the New York Knicks moves through the sports world, former Cats are taking to social media to offer their congratulations.

    Make no mistake, our program takes a hit losing KP. Good luck Sir! Nothing but love and respect here. Hate to lose you, but glad to have had you while we did. NY is getting a good one.

    One silver lining may be that we have struggled to get legit bigs the last few years maybe a fresh face can change that.

      Ehhh I feel like that has way less to do with KP and more to do with the system Cal runs – position-less basketball is great unless you’re a big body that thrives on the block and you don’t want to have to set screens at the top of the key only to brick a midrange that has never been a part of your game. Not saying Cal is wrong as that seems to be the way the NBA is headed but I wouldn’t hold my breath that a Demarcus Cousins is going to come waking through those doors again now that KP is gone
