Former North Carolina star Ty Lawson blasts Roy Williams

Ty Lawson helped North Carolina win the 2009 national championship before leaving for the NBA Draft, but there is apparently no love lost between the former ACC Player of the Year and his old head coach these days.

Earlier today, Lawson sounded off on Williams on Instagram for badmouthing him to NBA general managers. The former Tar Heel has been playing overseas for the Fujian Sturgeons since 2019 and is presumably trying to land on an NBA roster. He took the posts down, but not before Josh Graham (yes, that Josh Graham) snagged some screenshots.

**Warning: the language is NSFW or kiddos.**

Lawson was recently voted the fanbase’s favorite point guard and has posted plenty of Tar Heel-friendly tweets in the past, so this beef must be new. What did Roy say about Lawson? More importantly, what do we have to do to keep him talking?

Who cares if Roy sabotaged his NBA career? He has a world-class education to fall back on! Right?

To me, the most egregious thing about UNC getting away with cheating is that they got to keep their fancy reputation as a bastion of academia. It’s ridiculous and pathetic. If you’re going to use the argument they did, and take it out of the NCAA’a jurisdiction, then the scholastic side should suffer. That whole university is a complete and utter sham.

Agreed. It seems to me they should lose their membership in the AAU.

2009 was one of 3 national championships they won with ineligible players. Lawson was one of them.

It would be great if all of the players off those teams spoke the truth.

They don’t exist in the blue blood club anymore. No program is dirtier

I seem to remember that Lawson came out with some very unflattering remarks, about UNCheats when the NCAA interviewed him, during the initial fake investigation of UNCheats academic, system.

And KSR continues to punch down and give undeserved clicks to undeserving hacks, this one being “that” Josh Graham whose 15 seconds should have ended the day after Olivier Sarr committed.

Poor guy has only been arrested 5 times. Maybe NBA teams should’ve listened.
