Florida’s Chris Walker is going pro

A few days after Evan Daniels reported that Florida sophomore forward Chris Walker wasn’t expected back next season, we now know why: this afternoon, Walker declared for the NBA Draft.

A few years ago, this would be huge, huge news for Walker, a former McDonalds All-American, five-star recruit, and projected lottery pick. After two disappointing years at Florida, Walker will have to rely on his size and upside to attract an NBA team. Even then, he has a lot of work to do in the D-League.

Before you call me harsh, this was Walker’s former teammate Patric Young’s reaction to the news:

I’ve said it before, there is a reason that Cal doesn’t get all the recruits he goes after. There typically is not any negative news coming from Cal or his coaches. He just goes cold on people sometimes. I personally like that he never makes negative comments. It’s not really professional to air “dirty laundry”.

The same reason that we all jumped all over Chris WebberWHo, besides the fact that he was just plain wrong.

This is such a bad job. When the plants and fence around your arms are rippled, that’s never a good sign!
