Florida basketball’s DeVon Walker will miss the season with a torn ACL

(Jacksonville.com)

You never like to hear about a kid getting injured, but the report has been confirmed from earlier today that Florida forward DeVon Walker tore his ACL and will not be available for the Gators this season. The injury occurred on Friday night and CBS Sports first reported the injury earlier today. Billy Donovan was already going to be in rebuilding mode a bit after the loss of a stacked senior class. Walker was expected to be a key contributor, especially on the defensive end for the Gators.

Walker was getting ready for his junior season with the Gators after 2 years of spot minutes behind the likes of Patric Young. The 6’6 forward was a 3-star prospect coming out of high school.

I refuse to call the buddy who is a gator fan who got a kick out of Noel going down on their home court. It’s not this kids fault the gators have some dumbass fans just as the CATS do. I guess I may be different from some but I always want the CATS to beat the other team down fully loaded.

The fact that this is being reported on a rival’s site makes the “you never like to hear about a kid getting injured” line seem a bit disingenuous.
