#FlashbackFriday: Cal’s first win over Rick at UK, five years ago today

It was five years ago today when John Calipari’s dominance over Rick Pitino began. You remember. Eric Bledsoe wanted to kill Reginald Delk and DeMarcus Cousins elbowed Jared Swopshire, all before there were any points on the board. The game had six fouls and three technicals before the 0-0 tie was broken to start the game.

In the end, third-ranked Kentucky won by nine, led by DeMarcus Cousins with 18 and 18. John Wall and Patrick Patterson chipped in with 17 apiece.

Man, I miss that team.

One of the most, if not THE most fun UK teams to watch, ever. Selfishly I wish they had all stayed for 4 years.

I agree with you. That team was just special and maybe the best team ever in college till now.

Is this even really a rivalry anymore? For a while there it looked like the best one in college basketball, but the Cards have to at least compete. UL is practically a cupcake game at this point.

Yes the Cats are dominating UL in games won but the games are still close and competitive. You obviously are a Tard troll and just tired of losing to the Cats.

The best part is Calipari telling Reginald Delk that Bledsoe would kick his ass after the game and the he is messing with the wrong guy

Coach Cal has aged about 20 years since then.

Pitino has aged more, losing so much will do that to a person.
