FINAL: KENTUCKY DEFEATS NO. 3 LOUISVILLE 78-70 IN OVERTIME
In a classic, the Kentucky Wildcats pulled off a 78-70 victory over No. 3 Louisville in overtime.
Tyrese Maxey led all scorers with 27 points on 9-14 shooting and 4-5 from three to go with seven rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Immanuel Quickley was second on the team with 18 points on 4-11 shooting and 8-8 from the line to go with three rebounds and one assist.
Ashton Hagans added eight points on 3-8 shooting to go with five rebounds, eight assists, and two steals.
In one of his most impressive performances as a Wildcat, Nick Richards managed 13 points on 4-6 shooting and 5-6 from the line to go with ten rebounds and a block.
For Louisville, Steven Enoch led the way with 18 points, followed by Dwayne Sutton with 14 and Lamarr Kimble with 12.
Louisville star forward Jordan Nwora was held to his worst shooting night of the season, finishing with just eight points on 2-10 shooting and 1-6 from three.
As a whole, the Cardinals shot just 40.3% from the field and 25.9% from three (7-27) compared to 46.3% shooting overall and 46.7% from three (7-15) for Kentucky.

The refs where horrible on both sides but especially against Richard’s. We wouldve won in regulation if not for all the phantom calls on Nick.

I try to hold it in and not complain about the refs, but that one SOB that called a foul on us everytime we Would breath on them, he had money on this game or just flat out hates Cal. Lmao. I am joking about the money on the game, (a little bit), hehe, but man, when Cal would try to talk to him he’d just turn his head and ignore him.
I think both teams were playing as hard as they could and I’m proud of all the kids, but it is a shame a grown man would try to cause the outcome of a GAME!!
Anyway, fellas!!!!! Woooohoooo! Man I’m fired up. Great game by the Cats today and Louisville has a heck of a team so that will help us gain some more confidence. I hat about my boy Nick Richards?? It’s basically the difference in scoring while said players were out there. A plus means his team scored x amount more while a minus means the opponent scored x amount more.

Maxey owned Nwora. Nwora lost millions in this game. Way way overrated. The level we played at on D was absolutely incredible. Even in foul trouble, we didn’t back down from trying to impose on every shot taken by da birds!

Great win! Maxey played well and has to have these kind of games to beat the better teams. Same for Quickley.
Guess the national sportswriters that left UK out of their top 25 feel like idiots; I’m glad I didn’t have to earn my living trying to do something that I didn’t know anything about.
In other news, LSU up big in 2nd half, and they’re leaving Joe Burrow out there like Saban left Tua in the game…about as smart as some sportswriters.
Where’s the old guy who kept saying Richards and Montgomery were wasted scholarships? Probably settling down with some icy hot and a heating pad mad that Richard’s had a great game.

Cats played great game today. They played really well against OSU and great against Michigan State. Would like to see Cal schedule a couple more difficult games in Nov/Dec as his teams have the ability to rise to the occasion and competition. But they also have the ability to play down. Not saying every game has to be against top ten but would really like to see them play UNC and IU each year. Need to get back to old rivalries.
I would like to see the Cats play UNCheats home and home, and maybe revive the Norte Dame game around Christmas in Louisville, like in the Digger days. Course ND was a power back then and not do much now.
I hope we never play IU again unless forced by Emmerts stooges in March.
What a game! Richards is showing up this year (which I told peeps at work I felt like he was the key to their success), IQ is an unsung hero of the game, Maxey steps it up in the biggest games of the year. On the other hand did Juzang or Whitney make it to the game? I didn’t expect a ton out of Juzang because he’s so young but Whitney was supposed to be the stud that was the alpha male on the squad
It is the 9th time the Cats have beaten the Cards 3 times in a row in the series…the Cards have never done it!
