Even Pat Forde is calling for the death penalty

How bad is it for Louisville?

So bad, that even Pat Forde is calling for the death penalty. And for Pat Forde to turn on Rick Pitino and UofL, you know things have gotten way out of hand.

From Forde’s new column, “Louisville basketball should be given death sentence if bombshell NCAA allegations prove true”:

The program should be shut down, if the bombshell allegations announcement of allegations Tuesday prove to be true. If that doesn’t happen, the NCAA is useless.

Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino should be gone, a gilded career ending in disgrace. It seems highly plausible that he will take athletic director Tom Jurich with him, a man who lifted an entire department, and now oversees its ruination.

They were heroes here, for many years. And now they have been party to multiple scandals and a stain so deep on the basketball program that it may never fully go away. SMU football knows the feeling.

Louisville Doesn’t Exist was once a popular t-shirt; now it may soon become reality.

Maybe the City of Louisville will find someway to go back on #6 for the negative impact they will have economically in the city. YUM center goes broke, nothing there after #6 gets the death penalty. Further the economy that fed off of YUM, uber, lyft, dining establishments, parking, employees of YUM.

I am not concerned for #6. I am worried about our taxes going sky high to recover the economic losses generated by the cheating scandle at #6.

Great school, something we all can be proud of, here in Kentucky.

Nature and economics both abhor a vacuum. The Yum Center may lose a lot of future revenue in Louisville games if the program is closed down, but YC will fill those dates with other concerts, other shows like WWE, rodeo, etc, and basically anything else they think they can sell tickets for.

The Yum Center is going broke precisely because of UofLOL’s sweetheart deal to play all of their home bball games, and other sports, there for next to nothing. Without the money-losing proposition of hosting those games, they might actually have a chance to make money with more concerts, etc. Hell, UK could play a game or two there every year as a result!

U of L under their original deal with the Yum Center (I think this is also true at present), gets 88% of revenue from events at the Yum Center. That’s not just at U of L games, that includes concerts, etc. If U of L goes down for this, it would likely void that contract, and then that revenue would go to the Yum Center.

Pat Forde doesn’t care about anything but doing whatever it takes to get attention. Several years ago, prior to his bromance with Quick Rick, he tried to instigate some NCAA trouble for UofL and subsequently got suspended from his job at the Courier Journal. He sees this about to go down and is trying to get ahead of the game.

If the NCAA didn’t even wrist slap North Carolina, why should U of L get the death penalty?

If Penn State still has a football program, Louisville will continue to play basketball.
