ESPN ranks SEC wide receivers and tight ends, UK best in SEC East

ESPN is back with its ranking of each position in the Southeastern Conference and today’s group, the wide receivers and tight ends, has Kentucky in the top half of the league once again.

The Worldwide Leader ranked the Cats sixth in the conference when it comes to its pass-catchers, trailing only Alabama, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Arkansas and LSU. Notice those five teams are all in the SEC West; therefore, Kentucky has the best receivers and tight ends in the SEC East, according to ESPN.

6. Kentucky: The Wildcats have a nice collection of talent here with their top five pass-catchers from 2015 all returning: receivers Garrett Johnson, Dorian Baker, Jeff Badet, Blake Bone, and tight end C.J. Conrad. Ryan Timmons, who has also seen significant playing time, also returns. They provide a good mix of size, speed, and playmaking ability for quarterback Drew Barker to target.

Yesterday, ESPN ranked UK’s running backs fifth in the conference. When’s the last time the Cats were in the top-half of the conference at the offensive skill positions?
