University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

ESPN names 10 college hoops players who could play football. You’ll never guess who they included.

Cauley_story

In honor of the College Football playoff, Myron Medcalf at ESPN compiled a list of 10 college hoops athletes who could also play football. Surprise: Kentucky’s own Willie Cauley-Stein came in at #1. Apparently he played receiver in high school; who’da thunk it.

Hey, Nick Saban. Any interest in a 7-foot wide receiver who caught 57 passes for 1,140 yards as a senior in high school? Oh, Cauley-Stein also scored 14 touchdowns (in the first nine games) of his 2011 campaign at Northwest High School in Olathe, Kansas. Would you like a guy like that at Bama, Coach?

While it would be nice to see the SEC do a bit better in bowl games this season, personally, I prefer Willie on the basketball court.

Did anyone know WCS played football in high school? I had never ever heard that. 😃
