ESPN Insiders debate whether or not UK will go undefeated

With a perfect non-conference record in the rearview mirror and a mediocre SEC slate on the horizon, the debate over whether or not UK will go undefeated is unavoidable. Get ready to hear it during every televised basketball game for the rest of the season. At the midway point of the season, ESPN Insider’s college basketball staff weighed in on the topic. Here’s a summary of their responses:
Jay Bilas: Undefeated regular season, then who knows
Dan Dakich: Undefeated all the way
Sean Farnham: Undefeated through SEC Tournament
John Gasaway: Undefeated regular season, loss in the SEC Tournament
Jeff Goodman: Loss at Florida or at LSU (of course!)
Seth Greenberg: Undefeated all the way
Joe Lunardi: Loss at Florida or at LSU
Never thought I’d say this, but #TeamDakich (and Greenberg).

As much as I would love to go undefeated through everything, I do think a loss towards the end of the season or the sec tourney would get them team hungry again but if cal can keep them motivated and they dont get complacent hell with it and hell with Bob knight
Cal is certainly motivated to coach an undefeated team and this may be his best (last?) chance to achieve that goal. It’s not going to break my heart if the team stumbles along the way but I’d love to see this team match Knight’s 1976 team.
Knights team only played 32 games. WHEN UK goes with no losses it will be 40-0. A record that will be unmatched .
A loss is never good. The mere thought of an undefeated season is hunger enough. A stupid way to inspire a team by losing how inane is that.
Why we don’t need to lose: Because we are not winning due to good fortune or lucky bounces. Teams in the recent past like Syracuse have been undefeated, but lucky to be so. Kentucky has controlled every game they wanted to control from start to finish-they are just that much better then everyone else.
This team isn’t losing. In order for them to lose, there have to be 4 guys that have a terrible day and 5 others that have a mediocre day at the same time. That’s the difference between the Wall team and the Davis team, they were great but not as deep. This team is great and deep. Cats rollin!
