Eberlein Drive pulled from TBT following positive COVID test
Another team has been forced to drop out of The Basketball Tournament (TBT) due to a positive coronavirus test. TBT announced that Eberlein Drive, a team that includes former LSU stars Emmitt Williams and Tim Quarterman, has been removed from competition after a player tested positive for COVID-19 during the quarantine period. The player is asymptomatic and feels fine and all other players and staff have tested negative.
“We are devastated by the news that we can no longer compete, but we understand,” Eberlein Drive tweeted. “We can report that the player who tested positive is asymptomatic and feeling well. We appreciate all @thetournament has done to keep everyone safe. We will be back in 2021 #LetsDrive.”
Team Brotherly Love, who was scheduled to play Eberlein Drive in the quarterfinals tonight, will advance to meet the winner of Team CP3 and Golden Eagles Alumni (Marquette) tomorrow night. Team CP3 vs. Golden Eagles Alumni will still take place tonight at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
