Duke’s AD to chair Selection Committee in 2019-20

Get your conspiracy theories ready! This morning, the NCAA announced that Duke vice president and athletic director Kevin White will chair the men’s basketball tournament selection committee for the 2019-20 season.

White, who has been on the committee since 2015, will serve as vice chair under the current chairman, Stanford AD Bernard Muir, for the 2018-19 season. Kentucky athletic director Mitch Barnhart joined the ten-person committee in 2016. His five-year term ends after the 2022 season.

Let the paranoia begin.

If anything, we have gotten screwed even harder since Mitch got on the committee, so I’m not sure what to make of this. If Duke wasn’t already maxed out on preferential treatment, I would be more concerned.

Our bracket when announced was actually very tough. Then all hell broke loose and our path cleared for us. I can go through the brackets since Cal has been here and easily show my point.

Christ. Wake up Wade. Upsets happened to open it up for us. Doesn’t have an ounce of anything to do with the selection of the brackets.

We were in the toughest bracket and all the top seeds got knocked out. We even watched history as a 16 seed beat a 1 seed. Poor Virginia, they always flake in the tourney.

That’s some faulty logic you have there. Travis was leaving anyway. As long as he didn’t go to another PAC-16 school (which I’m sure they wouldn’t have “allowed”), I’m sure they didn’t care. In fact, going to UK ensures the name “Stanford graduate” will be heard and/or seen by millions of basketball fans, the entire year. His story is the new “Where Bam got his name” for 2018-’19. There is literally no downside to him being at UK.

Hell they already get the easy bracket possibly almost every year so how much worse can it get unless they start including NIT and D2 teams!

I really don’t think it matters. I think with thing we have already heard, there are going to be some major chemistry issues with Duke. I can see RJ Barrett or Williamson trying to be ball hogs and rubbing their teammates the wrong way. Bolden is about the only one with any experience and he has not impressed at all. With no leadership, they will fall flat on their face. Coach K has proven he cant handle egos and get them to play a team. The past two years they were supposed to be a super team and we see how that worked out. The young Dukies are going to be in for a rude awakening and Williamson will get owned by Travis and Washington. I can’t wait to see it happen.
