When Kentucky and Duke meet in the Champions Classic to open the 2018-19 college basketball season, both teams will have already played games against some quality competition in the preseason.
Kentucky will of course play the gauntlet of professional teams in the Bahamas as part of the team’s international trip. The Cats will play the Bahamas National Team, San Lorenzo de Almagra, Mega Bemax and Team Toronto at the Atlantis in August.
Not wanting to be outdone by Calipari’s Wildcats, Duke announced it will play three games in Canada (RJ Barrett’s native land) in August. It’s being billed as the Duke Canada Tour and it will pit the young Blue Devils against Ryerson University and University of Toronto at the Hershey Centre in Toronto, and McGill University at Place Bell in Montreal. The games will be played the week after UK’s Bahamas trip.
